After making the cut her past 17 tournaments, Canada's Brooke Henderson will have an unwanted weekend off at the U.S. Women's Open.
The native of Smiths Falls, Ont. shot 2-over 72 in the second round at Pinehurst on Friday after a disastrous 80 in the opening round of the major.
Henderson fell four shots short of the cutline on a tough layout in Pennsylvania.
Henderson came into the week fifth in this season's LPGA point standings.
The Canadian wasn't the only big name to miss the cut. World No. 1 Nelly Korda also is going home after going 10 over for two rounds.
Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke, Que., the only other Canadian in the field, made the cut at 6 over. She is 10 shots off the lead.
Henderson will return to action next week at the Shoprite LPGA Classic in Galloway, N.J. She won the event in 2022.
