The Toronto Blue Jays have checked off one more box on the road to first pitch.
Toronto unveiled its opening-day lineup on Friday, with DH George Springer leading off per usual while right fielder Addison Barger bats cleanup.
Left fielder Nathan Lukes will bat second and first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. lines up third for the reigning AL champions' home opener against the Athletics. Blue Jays Central leads into coverage at 5:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PT before the game broadcast starts at 7:07 p.m. ET / 4:07 p.m. PT.
In order after Barger, catcher Alejandro Kirk, centre fielder Daulton Varsho, third baseman Kazuma Okamoto, second baseman Ernie Clement and shortstop Andres Gimenez round out the Blue Jays' lineup.
The game will mark Okamoto's MLB debut after he signed a four-year, $60-million contract with the Blue Jays to leave Japan in the off-season.
Okamoto and his new teammates will face Athletics right-hander Luis Severino, who posted a 4.54 ERA and 1.303 WHIP in 29 starts last season.
The Blue Jays counter with Kevin Gausman, who will make his first opening-day start for the franchise.
Gausman, 35, pitched to a 3.59 ERA over 32 starts last season before posting a 2.93 ERA over six post-season appearances.
