After claiming the American League Player of the Month in June, Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani also brought home the award for July.
In July, Ohtani hit .282 with nine home runs, 14 RBI, a .447 on-base percentage and .705 slugging percentage. On the mound, he went 2-2 with a 4.97 ERA, capping off his month by throwing his first career complete game shutout against the Detroit Tigers on July 27.
It is the fourth Player of the Month award of Ohtani's career. He also took home the honours in June and July of his MVP-winning 2021 season.
In the National League, Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger earned his second career Player of the Month award, becoming the first Cub since Kris Bryant in 2016 to win the honour.
Bellinger slashed .400/.432/.690 with eight home runs, 24 RBI and 21 runs scored. He led all MLB hitters in average and total bases in July.
His efforts helped Chicago to a 15-11 record in the month, including an eight-game win streak.
On the pitching side, Tampa Bay Rays righty Tyler Glasnow was named the AL Pitcher of the Month, and Milwaukee Brewers starter Corbin Burnes earned the NL award.
Glasnow went 3-2 over six starts in July, posting a 2.11 ERA while striking out 51 over 38.1 innings. He also held opposing batters to a .186 average, resulting in just 26 hits in the month.
It is the second time in his career that he was named a Pitcher of the Month.
Burnes, meanwhile, won the honour for the first time in his career after going 4-1 with a 1.85 ERA over six July starts. He struck out 47 over 39 innings pitched, including a 13-punchout start against the Cincinnati Reds on July 14.
MLB also handed out its relievers and rookies of the month.
Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas and New York Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez each brought home their first-ever monthly awards as their respective league's top rookies in July.
In the bullpen, Baltimore Orioles closer Felix Bautista was named the top AL Reliever for the second-straight month and third time in 2023. Brewers closer Devin Williams also won his third-reliever of the month award in July, but just his first since 2021.
