The Toronto Blue Jays top pitching prospect is headed for a stint on the injured list.
The Buffalo Bisons, the Blue Jays' triple-A affiliate, announced on their transactions page that Tiedemann was placed on the seven-day injured list on Thursday. The specifics of the injury were not disclosed.
Tiedemann was originally scheduled to make his fourth start of the season on Wednesday based on the team's game notes, but Andrew Bash ended up starting instead.
Tiedemann's last start was on April 11.
The 21-year-old left-hander has had a rocky start to his season with Buffalo. Through three starts, he is 0-1 and has a 5.63 ERA, after allowing seven hits, five runs, three home runs and nine walks over eight innings. He has also struck out 10.
A 2021 third-round pick by the Blue Jays, Tiedemann was last year named the MLB's No. 2 pitching prospect among left-handers.
