Zimmer had eight homers and 35 RBI in 99 games with Cleveland last season along with a .227/.325/.344 slash line.

The 29-year-old from San Francisco, who was drafted 21st overall by Cleveland in 2014, holds a lifetime .225 batting average over five seasons.

Castro, who arrived in Toronto via waiver claim in December 2020, posted a 1-2 record, 32 strikeouts and one save in 25 games during his lone season with the Blue Jays last year.

The Blue Jays begin their 2022 campaign Friday hosting the Texas Rangers in their home opener at Rogers Centre. You can watch the game on Sportsnet starting at 7 p.m. ET.
