The Toronto Blue Jays are acquiring left-handed starter Robbie Ray from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for left-handed reliever Travis Bergen, Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi reports.
Ray, 28, is 1-4 with a 7.84 ERA in seven starts this season. He has allowed the most earned runs (27) and walks (31) in the National League. He has also thrown an NL-high six wild pitches.
Over seven MLB seasons, Ray has a 4.25 ERA and 4.09 FIP. He was an all-star in 2017 and is set to hit free agency at the end of this season.
Bergen, 26, has made one relief appearance for the Blue Jays in 2020. He yielded one hit and one walk while striking out three in 1 2/3 innings.
