Addison Barger is back.
The Toronto Blue Jays activated the slugger from the injured list on Saturday ahead of a game against the Los Angeles Angels (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 3 p.m. ET / noon PT), the team announced.
In a corresponding move, fellow outfielder Yohendrick Piñango was optioned to triple-A.
Barger, 26, was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left ankle sprain on April 7. Prior to his injury, the left-handed hitter had been struggling at the plate, logging just one hit and three walks in 23 plate appearances.
However, he enjoyed a breakout 2025 season for the Blue Jays with 21 home runs, 74 RBIs and an .756 OPS. He added three homers, drove in nine runs and posted a 1.025 OPS during the Blue Jays' run to the World Series, including the first-ever pinch-hit grand slam in Game 1 of the Fall Classic.
In three rehab outings with the single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, Barger hit a pair of home runs.
Meanwhile, Piñango impressed in his short stint with the club, hitting .423 with four RBIs and a .906 OPS in 10 games.
However, with a fellow lefty in Barger returning the lineup, the club appears to have opted for versatility by keeping struggling right-handed hitter Davis Schneider on the MLB roster instead.
