The Toronto Blue Jays have activated right-handed reliever Anthony Castro from the injured list and assigned him to triple-A Buffalo.

Castro last pitched July 9 and was recovering from irritation in his right ulnar nerve, which sends electrical signals to muscles in a person's forearm and hand and is responsible for sensation in the fourth and fifth fingers, as well as part of the palm and the underside of the forearm.

The 26-year-old has a 5.31 ERA in 22 appearances for the Blue Jays this season with 28 strikeouts and one save.

Earlier Wednesday, the Blue Jays bolstered the bullpen at the major league level by adding Nate Pearson and Bryan Baker from Buffalo.
