The Toronto Blue Jays have activated Nate Pearson from the 10-day injured list and have optioned him to the team’s alternate training site.
Pearson has been recovering from a Grade 1 groin strain which he suffered in his first spring training start back in the beginning of March. He is expected to throw three to four innings at the alternate training site in Trenton, N.J., with the Buffalo Bisons.
The 24-year-old is expected to be a regular part of the Blue Jays rotation this season, his first full campaign in the majors. Elbow injuries limited Pearson to only four starts and five appearances last season and he posted a 6.00 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 18 innings.
