The Toronto Blue Jays have transferred starting right-hander Bowden Francis to the 60-day injured list due to right shoulder impingement.
Francis was initially placed on the 15-day IL on June 17.
The 29-year-old has struggled this season after a career year in 2024. He has a 2-8 record with a 6.05 earned-run average, having allowed 19 home runs in 14 starts this season.
Francis went 8-5 last season with a 3.30 ERA and allowed 17 homers in 13 starts.
In other moves, the Jays reinstated infielder Will Wagner from the restricted list and listed him as active for Monday's series opener in Baltimore.
Toronto also optioned outfielder Alan Roden to triple-A Buffalo.
Wagner, 26, has done well since being called up in place of Roden in late June and is batting .243 with a .650 OPS in 36 games this season.
Lazaro Estrada, Paxton Schultz and Easton Lucas are also all on the team's taxi squad ahead of Tuesday's doubleheader, but are not expected to be activated for Monday's game.
Eric Lauer will start Game 2 of the doubleheader, with the Game 1 starter to be announced.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider also gave updates on several of the other injured Blue Jays on Monday.
Daulton Varsho will continue his rehab assignment in triple-A by playing in games on Tuesday and Wednesday, and will hopefully join the team on Friday when it returns to Toronto.
Catcher Alejandro Kirk, who was placed on the seven-day IL Sunday due to a concussion, is feeling "better."
Alek Manoah threw a 45-pitch simulated game on Saturday. The plan is for him to throw one more outing in Florida before he moves to a higher minor league.
Nick Sandlin is due to resume throwing this week, while Ryan Burr's shoulder surgery is set for Aug. 4.
You can watch the MLB-leading Blue Jays take on the Orioles Monday live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT.
