The Toronto Blue Jays added Ross Stripling to their active roster Wednesday, two days after acquiring the right-handed pitcher from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Stripling is expected to start one of the team’s two games in Boston on Friday against the Red Sox.
In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays optioned right-hander Sean Reid-Foley to the team’s alternate training site in Rochester.
The Blue Jays acquired Stripling ahead of Monday’s trade deadline in exchange for two players to be named later, one of which was announced Tuesday as pitching prospect Kendall Williams.
The 30-year-old Stripling has a 3-1 record in seven starts this season with a 5.61 earned-run average.
