The Toronto Blue Jays have set their minor-league coaching staffs for 2025.
Toronto announced all of their coaching appointments for the upcoming season on Thursday, revealing who will be leading the charge at each of the club's minor-league affiliates and revealing the list of player development staff that will assist organization-wide.
The field managers at each level are as follows:
Triple-A Buffalo: Casey Candaele
Double-A New Hampshire: Brent Lavallee
High-A Vancouver: Jose Mayorga
Low-A Dunedin: Gil Kim
Florida Complex League: John Tamargo Jr.
Dominican Summer League Blue: Danny Canellas
Dominican Summer League Red: Ashley Ponce
Candaele has served as Buffalo's manager since 2021, with a short period in 2022 as the Blue Jays' bench coach. But behind him, Toronto handed out a couple of promotions.
Lavallee, a North Delta, B.C., native, is moving up from Vancouver to New Hampshire after guiding the high-A Canadians to the Northwest League finals in each of his three seasons at the helm.
Mayorga moves from Dunedin to Vancouver. He spent his winter coaching in Panama and served as the manager of the championship-winning Chiriqui Federales in the professional winter league in his home country.
Kim, meanwhile, was reassigned from the big-league club earlier in the off-season. Kim joined Toronto as its player development director in 2016 and served as the club's field co-ordinator in 2024.
According to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi, Kim will have other duties alongside his managerial role in Dunedin.
Also notable among the Blue Jays announcement was the group of former big-leaguers who will serve on the player development and high-performance staff as "special assistants to player development."
That list includes Pat Hentgen, Kevin Kiermaier, Paul Quantrill, Tim Raines and Devon White.
Kiermiaer is the only new addition to that group, as the other four are all returning to their roles.
