The Toronto Blue Jays announced the signing of five international free agents on Sunday night.
Teams across the majors were able to agree to contracts as the international signing period officially opened on Sunday.
The Blue Jays signed Dominican outfielder and MLB Pipeline's number seventh-ranked international prospect Enmanuel Bonilla for $4.1 million — the largest international deal ever handed out by the organization.
Sportsnet's Shi David reported on the deal earlier Sunday.
In addition to its big splash, Toronto added left-handed pitcher Andersson Barvosa from Columbia, shortstop Jarold Montealto from Nicaragua, outfielder Daniel Perez from Cuba and catcher Juan Diego Rosas from Panama.
