Toronto Blue Jays star shortstop Bo Bichette could return to the lineup during an upcoming series against the Kansas City Royals, Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling reports.
Bichette ran, took groundballs and did batting practice on Tuesday, according to manager John Schneider.
Bichette was placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to Aug. 28 with a right quad strain.
The 25-year-old leads the Blue Jays with a .314 batting average and 152 hits. He's second on the club with 18 home runs and 62 RBIs.
Schneider also said Tuesday that third baseman Matt Chapman is taking groundballs and playing catch, but has not been cleared to swing the bat. The Blue Jays placed Chapman on the 10-day injured list with a right middle finger sprain on Aug. 28.
