Blue Jays' Bichette returns to lineup for series opener against A's

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette will return to the lineup on Friday against the Oakland A's after missing the team's previous game with discomfort in his left thumb.

The AL's leading vote-getter at shortstop, Bichette will return to his normal No. 2 spot in the lineup.

Bichette was a late scratch for Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins.

Bichette has been Toronto's best hitter this season. He is slashing .317/.347/.505 with 14 homers and 46 RBI.
