Blue Jays' C.J. Edwards clears release waivers, becomes free agent

Toronto Blue Jays right hander C.J. Edwards has cleared release waivers and is now a free agent, the team announced on Sunday.

Edwards, 29, made six appearances for the Blue Jays, posting a 6.75 ERA and a 1.875 WHIP in 5.1 innings after signing a minor-league deal with the team in May.
