The Toronto Blue Jays will send Trevor Richards to the mound as a starter on Saturday against the Texas Rangers.
This will be Richards' second stint as a starter in the span of one week. The 30-year-old took the mound on June 10 against the Minnesota Twins. In three innings, Richards struck out seven of the 11 batters he faced and allowed one hit as Toronto earned a 9-4 win over Minnesota.
Outfielder Kevin Kiermaier also returns to action, after being replaced by Daulton Varsho in Friday's 2-1 win in the series opener. Varsho moves to left field while Whit Merrifield takes over for Santiago Espinal at second base.
First pitch for the second of the three-game series is scheduled at 4:05 p.m. ET / 1:05 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN NOW.
