The Toronto Blue Jays selected the right-handed pitcher for the MLB roster and he will be active Sunday against the San Diego Padres.
In a subsequent move, righty Chad Dallas has been optioned to triple-A Buffalo, the team announced.
Van Eyk, 27, was selected as a second-rounder by the Blue Jays in the 2020 draft. The Tampa, Fla., native has spent the 2026 season with the Bisons, pitching 78.1 innings over 17 games (13 starts). Van Eyk has held a 3.79 ERA in that span, allowing 33 earned runs on 56 strikeouts and 25 walks.
Dallas, 26, made two big-league appearances for Toronto this season, pitching 4.2 innings with a 1.93 ERA.
The Blue Jays will look to secure a series win against the Padres on Sunday, with Kevin Gausman taking the mound for the 4:10 p.m. ET / 1:10 p.m. PT start (on Sportsnet, Sportsnet+).
