The Toronto Blue Jays will continue to use their starting rotation out of the bullpen in Game 7.
After Kevin Gausman entered in the seventh inning of Monday's contest against the Seattle Mariners, Blue Jays manager John Schneider opted to turn to Chris Bassitt for the eighth.
Bassitt, who was left off Toronto's ALDS roster, pitched just once in this series before Game 7, working 1.2 scoreless innings in Game 2.
The veteran right-hander finished the regular season on the injured list with a back injury, but worked 170.1 innings and made 32 appearances before being shut down.
One of those came in relief — July 13 in Sacramento — in another scoreless frame.
He will look to keep Seattle's offence off the scoreboard after the Blue Jays took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh on George Springer's three-run home run.
