The Toronto Blue Jays' newest sensation, Davis Schneider, will not be in the team's starting lineup against the Cleveland Guardians Tuesday.
Schneider played in the last four contests for the Blue Jays — the first four MLB games of his career.
The 24-year-old Schneider became the first player in MLB history to collect nine hits and two homers in his first three games.
The nine hits matched a modern MLB record that dated back to 1901. The only other major leaguer to do so was Coaker Triplett of the Chicago Cubs, who did it in April of 1938 against the Cincinnati Reds. Triplett had two doubles and a triple, but no home runs.
He finally cooled off in Monday's series opener against the Guardians, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts batting from the leadoff spot.
The Blue Jays will go for their fifth straight win Tuesday against the Guardians and you can watch it all live on Sportsnet and SN NOW at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
