The Toronto Blue Jays are moving on from Chad Green.
After officially acquiring Seranthony Dominguez from the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, the Blue Jays announced that Green has been designated for assignment.
Green threw an inning for Toronto in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader in Baltimore, allowing four runs and two long balls in the loss.
The shaky performance brought his ERA to 5.56 on the season and shot him into the lead among major-league relievers for home runs allowed.
Toronto signed Green as a free agent ahead of the 2023 season, with the longtime New York Yankee coming off Tommy John surgery.

The 34-year-old spent most of the 2024 season as the Blue Jays closer, picking up 17 saves while filling in for an injured Jordan Romano.
Green, a 10-year MLB veteran, now has seven days to either be traded or claimed off waivers. If he clears waivers, he can reject an assignment to the minor leagues since he has more than five years of service time.
