Davidi says to expect several other smaller deals. The Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers are tied with the smallest bonus pool to spend at $4.644-million. Toronto lost $500,000 and a second-round pick for signing slugger George Springer.
Meza, a 17-year-old Venezuelan catcher, was ranked 33rd on MLB’s international prospect list.
This is the scouting report I got on Meza: Really advanced, two-way catcher, good hitter with loose swing and strong feel for the strike zone, can really catch and throw with offensive upside.
