Kevin Gausman shared a kind message to social media on Monday.
The Toronto Blue Jays starter posted thanks to those battling the Canadian wildfires in an X post.
"Just want to show my appreciation for all the people helping to stop these fires in Canada. To all the first responders, pilots, and anyone out there doing their part- thank you," Gausman wrote.
There are over 950 wildfires in Canada right now, causing threats to many people. Responders have been working endlessly to put a stop to the blazes.
Due to the fires, many places in the world are dealing with smoke and air quality issues, including Toronto.
Gausman, who is American born, has grown into an honourary Canadian since joining the Blue Jays in 2022.
