Kevin Gausman will start for the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday night, the team announced Thursday.
The pitcher is returning from injury to help the Jays take on the Seattle Mariners in the first game of a three-game series in Seattle. Gausman was facing left-side discomfort and was a late scratch from his scheduled outing last week.
The team's general manager John Schneider said Tuesday that he was feeling better and making positive progress.
The starter has been reliable for the Blue Jays this season, posting a 3.03 ERA over 19 starts and 115.2 innings pitched.
