The Toronto Blue Jays did not have George Springer in their starting lineup for a second straight game.
Springer sat for most of Sunday afternoon's game (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+ 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT) against the Philadelphia Phillies after he was a late scratch from Saturday's game.
He did enter the contest as a pinch-runner in the 10th inning, but did not take an at-bat when his turn came up, instead being replaced by Jesus Sanchez.
The 36-year-old was ruled out Saturday with left shoulder tightness, which he's been dealing with for a couple of days, according to Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Per Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling, the Blue Jays gave Springer another day to manage the shoulder tightness, but there's a good chance he's available to start Monday.
Springer, 36, has now played in 87 games this season, slashing .234/.317/.396 to go with 12 homers, 36 RBI and eight stolen bases.
