The Toronto Blue Jays have granted left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano his unconditional release, the club announced Monday.
This allows Liriano to become a free agent and he will be eligible to sign with any team. The 37-year-old appeared in seven games with the Blue Jays in spring training, recording six strikeouts and three walks through 7.1 innings.
Liriano signed a minor-league deal with Toronto, which included an invite to spring training camp.
