Toronto Blue Jays reliever Chad Green completed back-to-back rehab appearances without giving up a run with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons this weekend.
Green, who underwent Tommy John surgery last summer as a member of the New York Yankees, didn't allow a hit and struck out two in one inning of relief in a 5-2 win over the Syracuse Mets on Sunday.
On Saturday, Green allowed a hit, walked one and struck out one in an inning of relief against the same Mets team.
The back-to-back appearances were seen as a key test for the right-hander before a possible recall.
Green has now made 11 rehab appearances this year in the minors -- though he experienced a setback earlier this month when he went into concussion protocol after being hit by a throw.
The Blue Jays are short a key reliever after Erik Swanson was placed on the 15-day IL with thoracic spine inflammation on Sunday.
