Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (hamstring) is not on the team's roster for the wild-card series against the Seattle Mariners.

The team released the roster on Friday, six hours before Game 1 of the best-of-three series at Rogers Centre.

Interim manager John Schneider said Gurriel Jr. likely would be ready for the ALDS against the Houston Astros if the team beats the Mariners. Gurriel has been out for a month.

Infielder Santiago Espinal (oblique) is on the roster. He has been out for more than two weeks.

Espinal is not in the starting lineup on Friday, but could be in on Saturday, Schneider said.

The Blue Jays have long reliever Yusei Kikuchi and third catcher Gabriel Moreno on the roster.

Outfielder Bradley Zimmer, traditionally a defensive replacement, is not on the roster.

The Mariners also released their roster.

Key players on the injured list include former Blue Jays reliever Ryan Borucki (forearm), outfielder Jesse Winker (cervical disc bulge) and infielder/outfielder Sam Haggerty (groin).

The Blue Jays' lineup for Game 1 has Danny Jansen at DH, Whit Merrifield at second base and Raimel Tapia in left field.
