Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. underwent left wrist surgery on Thursday, the team announced.
The Blue Jays say the surgery was to address an issue Gurriel dealt with during the season and that they expect him to be ready for spring training.
Gurriel missed the final month of the season with a hamstring injury and did not play in the team's two-game playoff loss against the Seattle Mariners.
Gurriel slashed .291/.343/.400 with five homers and 52 RBI in 121 games last season.
