Blue Jays lose pitcher Joel Payamps on waivers to Red Sox

The Toronto Blue Jays lost right-handed pitcher Joel Payamps on waivers to the Boston Red Sox on Monday.

Payamps was waived by the Red Sox earlier this month and subsequently claimed by the Blue Jays on Feb. 11.

The 26-year-old has four total MLB appearances to his name and owns a career 3.86 ERA over his seven innings of work.

He made eight relief outings for Estrellas in the Dominican Winter League this past off-season, posting a 1.38 ERA.

Toronto now has one open spot on its 40-man roster.
