The Toronto Blue Jays are making adjustments to their lineup for Game 2 of their ALDS series against the New York Yankees.
Nathan Lukes, Addison Barger and Anthony Santander won't be in the starting lineup with Davis Schneider, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Myles Straw drawing in.
With lefty Max Fried on the mound for the Yankees, the Blue Jays are electing to go with a lineup that features more right-handed bats. Daulton Varsho and Andres Gimenez are the only lefties in the lineup.
"Fried is a tough matchup for anyone, lefty or righty," Schneider said before the game. "Just tried to keep our defence intact as best we could and have some options against their right-handed bullpen."
Fried faced the Blue Jays four times this season, going 2-1 with a 4.07 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 24.1 innings.
The Blue Jays are up 1-0 in the series after a 10-1 victory over the Yankees in Saturday's opener.
Toronto is looking for another big offensive performance after scoring 10 runs on 14 hits. The Blue Jays also struck out just twice while drawing two walks.
Trey Yesavage is scheduled to start against Fried, making his post-season debut.
First pitch for Game 2 is scheduled for 4:08 p.m. ET / 1:08 p.m. PT with Blue Jays Central previewing the action starting at 3 p.m. ET / noon PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
