The Toronto Blue Jays are swapping some arms ahead of the final week of the regular season.
Right-hander Trey Yesavage (left knee inflammation) was officially reinstated from the 15-day injured list on Monday and will start the series opener in Baltimore against the Orioles.
The Blue Jays also recalled right-hander Chad Dallas from triple-A Buffalo.
In corresponding moves, right-hander Spencer Arrighetti was optioned to the team's spring training complex while left-hander Joe Mantiply was designated for assignment.
Arrighetti has a 6.35 ERA in seven games (two starts) for Toronto since being acquired in a deadline deal with the Houston Astros.
Mantiply has a 3.33 ERA in 25 relief appearances for the Blue Jays this season.
Dallas, a fourth-round pick by Toronto in 2021, has a 6.10 ERA in four games with the Blue Jays this season. He has spent most of the year with triple-A Buffalo.
Yesavage, of course, starred for the Blue Jays in their late-season push to the World Series last year. He is 5-5 with a 3.65 ERA in 18 starts this year.
