The Toronto Blue Jays' opening-day roster continues to come into focus.
Toronto optioned right-hander Lazaro Estrada to triple-A and granted veteran pitcher Connor Seabold his release on Saturday, per a team announcement.
Both were candidates to break camp with one of the team's final bullpen spots, as the Blue Jays decide on who to bring to Rogers Centre for Opening Day.
Estrada, 26, had pitched in six spring-training games for the Blue Jays in 2026, carrying a 4.76 ERA with four strikeouts in 11.1 innings.
Signed as an international free agent by Toronto in 2018, Estrada made his MLB debut in 2025. He appeared in two games with the team and allowed seven runs in 7.1 innings.
Over 97.1 innings of work at triple-A Buffalo last summer, the Cuban righty posted a 5.73 ERA with 99 strikeouts.
Seabold, meanwhile, signed with the Blue Jays on a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training over the off-season.
He will now become a free agent.
The 30-year-old showed an increase in velocity in his six spring appearances for Toronto. The results didn't quite follow, though, as he pitched to a 6.75 ERA, walked four and hit three in 6.2 innings.
Seabold pitched with both Tampa Bay and Arizona in 2025, allowing five earned runs over 10.1 frames. He had previously spent time in the majors with Boston and Colorado.
