Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to triple-A Buffalo alongside pitcher Anthony Kay.

The Blue Jays also designated pitcher T.J. Zeuch for assignment.

Kirk hasn't played for the Blue Jays since being removed from a game against the Atlanta Braves back on May 1 due to left hip flexor discomfort. He joined Buffalo on a rehab assignment on June 26 where he's since played in 13 games.

The 22-year-old has a .225 batting averaging and three home runs in 17 major league games this season.

Kay has a 1-2 record in five starts this season, throwing a 5.61 ERA, while Zeuch is 0-2 in three starts with a 6.60 ERA.

The moves come after Tuesday night's game versus the Boston Red Sox was cancelled due to thunderstorms in Buffalo.
