The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned left-handed pitcher Nick Allgeyer to the triple-A Buffalo Bisons the team announced Monday.

With the Blue Jays on an off-day, no corresponding move was announced, but one is expected to be made Tuesday before the team kicks off their three-game set with the Boston Red Sox.

The move comes just two days after the team called up Allgeyer to replace an injured Ryan Borucki, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left forearm flexor strain.

Allgeyer, 25, was a 12th-round pick of the Blue Jays in the 2018 draft. In two starts for triple-A Buffalo this season, the St. Louis native has allowed seven hits, two earned runs and struck out 10 across 12 innings.

The left-hander did not make an appearance in the two games he was active for against the Philadelphia Phillies.
