Blue Jays place Chatwood on 10-day IL, option Murphy to triple-A

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed reliever Tyler Chatwood on the 10-day injured list with a neck strain and optioned right-hander Patrick Murphy to triple-A Buffalo.

In 28 innings pitched this season, Chatwood is 1-2 with a 5.46 ERA while recording 32 strikeouts and one save. Murphy has appeared in six games this season, posting a 6.43 ERA in seven innings and recording four strikeouts.

Toronto has recalled Nick Allgeyer and Anthony Castro from triple-A and both will be active for Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Castro has appeared in 19 games for the Blue Jays, recording a 4.50 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 18 innings. Allgeyer has yet to make an appearance in the majors.
