A promising young arm in the Toronto Blue Jays farm system is getting a bump.
Pitching prospect Gage Stanifer has been called up to the triple-A Buffalo Bisons, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Stanifer, 22, is the Blue Jays' No. 10 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and has been among the most elite strikeout artists in double-A this season, recording 133 over 97 innings, good for second in the Eastern League.
However, the right-hander has also been wild at times, walking 64 batters and recording a 4.82 ERA. Stanifer began the season as a starter but moved to the bullpen in August.
He has a 3.75 ERA with 22 strikeouts over 12 innings since making the move.
A 19th-round pick in the 2022 draft, Stanifer's repertoire includes a four-seam fastball with an average velocity of 95 m.p.h., a plus slider that batters didn't record one hit off at single-A in 2025 and a changeup.
Tabbed as a prospect with the potential to emerge as a major-league option in the shorter term, Stanifer could be a bullpen option for the Blue Jays if he continues to perform well at triple-A.
