The Toronto Blue Jays' top prospect is receiving a nice 20th birthday gift.
Shortstop JoJo Parker was promoted to the high-A Vancouver Canadians, Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling reported on Saturday.
The Blue Jays' eighth-overall selection in the 2025 MLB Draft, Parker has torn up the Florida State League with the single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, slashing .259/.389/.471 with 13 home runs and 66 RBIs over 87 games.
After a slow start, Parker has been particularly impressive since the start of June, hitting 10 homers and posting a .973 OPS.
The left-handed hitter's 114.2 m.p.h. max exit velocity ranks in the 97th percentile.
Parker is ranked 27th on MLB Pipeline's top 100 prospects list.
After trading fellow shortstop Arjun Nimmala, who was the Blue Jays' No. 2 prospect and ranks No. 43 on MLB Pipeline's Top 100, as part of the package for starter Jose Soriano, Parker is now Toronto's primary hope for a homegrown star infielder.
Parker could now play out the remainder of the season for the Canadians in the difficult hitting environment of the Northwest League as he looks to continue ascending in Toronto's system.
