One of the Toronto Blue Jays' top prospects has earned another promotion.
Starter Trey Yesavage is being bumped up to double-A and will start for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats later this week, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reported on Monday.
Yesavage recorded nine strikeouts over five innings to earn his first win with the high-A Vancouver Canadians on Friday night.
The 21-year-old right-hander from Pottstown, Penn., is among the top minor-league pitchers with 88 strikeouts.
He gave up just one run, a homer in the fourth, and issued one walk during his latest outing.
"He's definitely opened some eyes here for sure. The stuff's real. So we'll see how it goes at each level," Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Monday.
Yesavage was selected by the Blue Jays 20th overall in the first round of last year's 2024 MLB Draft.
