Blue Jays prospects Tiedemann, Zulueta to participate in MLB Futures Game

Toronto Blue Jays pitching prospects Ricky Tiedemann and Yosver Zulueta were named to the American League lineup for the 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Thursday.

Tiedemann, 19, is ranked third among Blue Jays prospects and No. 64 on the MLB's Top 100 list. The left-hander from Long Beach, Calif., opened the season with the single A Dunedin Blue Jays and recorded a 3-1 record with a 1.80 ERA and 49 strikeouts over six starts before earning a promotion to high A Vancouver Canadians where he has a 2-1 record, 1.64 ERA and 47 strikeouts in seven starts.

Zulueta is ranked No. 19 on the Blue Jays prospect list. The 24-year-old right-hander from Cuba has split time this season between Dunedin, Vancouver and the double A New Hampshire Fisher Cats with a combined 1-4 record, 3.86 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 10 starts.

The 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game takes place July 16 at Dodger Stadium ahead of the MLB All-Star Game on July 19.

Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk and first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are the front-runners at their positions in fan voting for the AL starting lineup with one day remaining. Second baseman Santiago Espinal and shortstop Bo Bichette are both second at their spots while George Springer is third and Lourdes Guerriel Jr. is fourth among outfielders.
