The Toronto Blue Jays began cutting down their opening day roster on Monday, reassigning seven players to minor-league spring training.
Toronto additionally optioned left-handed pitcher Adam Macko to triple-A Buffalo.
The seven players who were reassigned are catchers Robert Brooks and Andres Sosa, right-hander Adam Kloffenstein, infielders Charles McAdoo, Rainer Nunez, and Eddinson Paulino and outfielder RJ Schreck.
McAdoo, Paulino and Schreck were all acquired in Toronto's sell-off at the 2024 trade deadline.
Both McAdoo and Schreck spent significant time with the club through the first nine games of Grapefruit League action. They combined to go 4-for-24 with two singles each.
Macko, meanwhile, underwent surgery for a torn meniscus earlier in camp.
The 24-year-old lefty made his triple-A debut last year with the Bisons. Macko allowed four hits, three earned runs and three walks while striking out three in the outing against the New York Yankees' triple-A affiliate, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
