Ahead of first pitch in San Francisco, the Toronto Blue Jays made a roster move Tuesday..
Right-hand reliever Chad Dallas was recalled from the triple-A Buffalo Bisons, while in a corresponding move, outfielder Yohendrick Pinango was optioned to Buffalo, the team announced.
The move gets the Jays' roster back to 13 pitchers and 13 position players while Braydon Fisher is away on bereavement.
Dallas, a fourth-round pick of the Blue Jays in 2021, made his MLB debut on June 4 in a 7-2 win over the Atlanta. In that game, he pitched 3.2 innings and allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out a pair. He returned to the Bisons on June 19 without having made a further appearance for Toronto.
Like Dallas, Pinango made his major-league debut this season. He's played 51 games for the Jays while bouncing between the big club and Buffalo, batting .267 with five home runs and 20 RBI.
Since his latest recall, on June 27, he's endured a barren stretch in which he batted just .174 — which coincided with the team’s scoreless stretch that reached 29 innings before finally ending on Monday night.
The Blue Jays take on the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night (9:45 p.m. ET / 6:45 p.m. PT, Sportsnet, Sportsnet+) in the second game of a three-game set, after dropping the opener 10-1.
