Blue Jays recall Trent Thornton, will be active vs. Orioles on Sunday

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right-hander Trent Thornton from the Buffalo Bisons, their triple-A affiliate, and he will be active for Sunday's series finale vs. the Baltimore Orioles.

In a corresponding move, fellow righty Anthony Castro was optioned to triple-A Buffalo.

Thornton, 27, has only given up a single unearned run across 7 1/3 innings in Buffalo. He has a 4.60 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 47 innings with the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays look to win their four-game series vs. the Orioles as they face off at 1:05 p.m. ET / 10:05 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN Now.
