Dylan Cease is taking a step towards a return to the mound.
The Toronto Blue Jays right-hander is throwing a bullpen on Saturday in Baltimore, per Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling.
Cease is expected to throw 25-30 pitches, and his next step could be another bullpen or facing hitters, depending on how he responds.
The 30-year-old was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 25 with a mild left hamstring strain. He suffered the injury in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates while throwing a pitch and was removed from the game.

Cease has a 3-3 record through 11 starts this season with a 3.05 ERA and 1.21 WHIP while striking out 92 batters.
Elsewhere, Addison Barger has resumed hitting in the batting cages at the Blue Jays' complex in Dunedin while he recovers from right elbow inflammation.
Catcher Alejandro Kirk has also been taking on-field batting practice, and he should progress to hitting off high-velocity pitching machines in the coming days. Kirk has played just five games in 2026 due to a fractured thumb.
