The Toronto Blue Jays are moving on from a pitcher after just two appearances.
Toronto traded reliever Brett de Geus to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced Wednesday.
The 27-year-old de Geus was designated for assignment on Friday to make room for fellow reliever Jeff Hoffman on the 40-man roster.
In two outings with Toronto last season, de Geus allowed three hits, two walks and four earned runs across 2.1 innings.
The Pleasanton, Calif., native has also pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, Miami Marlins and Seattle Mariners.
