The Toronto Blue Jays have signed right-handed pitcher Paolo Espino to a minor-league deal, Sportsnet can confirm.
The New York Post's Jon Heyman was first to report the deal on Saturday.
The 36-year-old pitcher has a career 5.01 ERA over 257 MLB innings with the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals.
Espino struggled in his brief stint with the Nationals in 2023, finishing the season with a 24.75 ERA over four innings pitched.
The veteran pitcher is the first free agent signing by the Blue Jays this off-season.
