Blue Jays slot Hernandez in at DH after injury scare; Springer remains out

Arash Madani and Shi Davidi discuss George Springer being held out of the lineup for a third consecutive day and whether this should be a cause for concern and how the Blue Jays are creeping closer to the Yankees in the AL East standings.

There is some good news and some bad news with respect to the Blue Jays lineup.

The good news is that Teoscar Hernandez will DH in Sunday's game against the Yankees (1:35 p.m. ET on Sportsnet). Hernandez had to have his left foot x-rayed after fouling a ball off of it near the end of Saturday's 5-2 win, but fortunately the scans came back negative.

The bad news is that George Springer remains out of the starting lineup. This is the third game in a row the Jays' regular leadoff hitter has been out, after fouling a ball off his knee during a five-hit outing Thursday.

Jackie Bradley Jr. slots in at centre field. He will bat ninth, while Hernandez will be in the clean-up spot in the order.
