On a night where it wasn't going the Toronto Blue Jays' way, things went from bad to worse in the ninth inning against Baltimore on Monday.
George Springer was hit in the head by a Kade Strowd fastball and was forced to leave the game.
The Blue Jays slugger was down for a few minutes before walking gingerly to the clubhouse with some help.
Manager John Schneider told reporters post-game that Springer is undergoing testing with trainers, but mentioned the pitch hit the 35-year-old in the shoulder and then the helmet.
"He's doing alright... Thankfully, he was able to turn a little bit, too," Schneider said. "He was alert the whole time."
Springer went 1-for-3 on Monday night, with a walk and a strikeout. He's hitting .293 on the season.
Springer's availability is now in question as Toronto faces the Orioles in a doubleheader on Tuesday.
