Blue Jays’ Tellez leaves game against Phillies with leg injury

Rowdy Tellez was forced to leave the game in the eighth inning after appearing to tweak something after slipping on home plate.

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Rowdy Tellez left Sunday’s afternoon matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies after slipping on home plate.

Tellez had one run and one hit during five at-bats in the game before his exit. Cavan Biggio replaced him as a pinch-runner for the Jays.

At the time of exit, Toronto was leading the Phillies 10-6 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
