Right-hander Trevor Richards has been listed as the starter for Toronto on Friday night when the Blue Jays face the Baltimore Orioles.
Richards, who is 3-2 with a 5.59 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP, threw 29 pitches on Thursday night in a 11-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Jays had designated the contest as a bullpen game, but had not designated a starter until Friday afternoon.
It's the third time this month that Richards is opening a game for Toronto.
